The Following form is provided as part of E.R.A.S.E.'s campaign to correct the union - from A Courageous FIre Fighter

Date: / /

Attention: Daniel Dugan

President of the Local 36 Union

THIS LETTER EXPRESSES EXPLANATION OF NOTIFICATION

TO CHALLENGE THE FULL PAYMENT OF UNION DUES TO THE

LOCAL 36 [FIREFIGHTER’S] UNION.

PRESENTLY, I _______________________ AM AN ACTIVE UNION DUES PAYER.

I HEREBY, REGISTER DIS-SATISFACTION WITH THE SERVICE PROVIDED TO MINORITY BLACK FIREFIGHTERS.

CURRENTLY, THERE IS A GREAT DISPARITY IN RACIAL REFLECTION OF UNION BOARD MEMBERS. THIS RACIAL IMBALANCE HAS CONSEQUENTLY HAD A NEGATIVE BEARING ON THE URGENCY AND WILLINGNESS TO PROVIDE MINORITY MEMBERS WITH THE ADEQUATE ASSISTANCE AND COOPERATION NEEDED TO ADDRESS SUCH MATTERS AS:

OPEN DISCRIMINATORY PRACTICES; PUNITIVE DISCIPLINARY INJUSTICES; UNRESOLVED GRIEVANCES; AND, ENSURING THE BASIC PROTECTION OF MEMBER’S UNION AND CIVIL RIGHTS, IN RESPONSE TO THE VIOLATION OF ANY PART OF THE LABOR AGREEMENT(S).

IN GENERAL, IT HAS BEEN ALLEGED AND OBSERVED, THAT THE PRESENT MEMBERSHIP BOARD ACT MOSTLY IN FAVOR OF THE NEGOTIATING FIRE OFFICIALS [NON-SUPPORTERS], RATHER THAN ON BEHALF OF IT’S PAID SUPPORTER’S. THIS HAS BECOME AN OBVIOUS CONFLICT OF INTEREST, FURTHER POSITIONING THE POSTURE FOR BIASNESS WHEN THERE IS A DUTY TO ACT ON BEHALF OF MEMBERSHIP. THE LOYALTY OF THE UNION TO ITS SUPPORTERS HAS BECOME FRAGMENTED AND MISPLACED.

HENCE, I AM REQUESTING WITHDRAWAL OF MY MEMBERSHIP, AND THE FULL PAYMENT OF DUES; I CONTEST THE FULL SUPPORT OF A “UNION” THAT IS PARTIAL AND INDIFFERENT IN ITS DESIRES TO FULLY SUPPORT ME.

This was drafted in the absence of an official form from the IAFF and Provided as a Courtesy by the Spook and Spookettes. We are certain that there must be one, but concerned fire fighters should who want to take this action as part of their attempt to have a union that re presents them can use this form, as an example or as an actual form until we get an official one. We don't need to change the union; we just need to change the executive board, by people who care about this city and the firefighters.
In the spirit of the bus boycott in the civil rights era,
We shall overcome!
Justice for All Firefighters!

This letter iz absured! What, da blacks do not git da same benefits as whites from Local 36? Hmmm lets see: dere iz dental benefits ta keep ya smile nice an' whitey. There iz legal benefits fo' those who run afoul o' da law, how about da optical benefits ta keep ya peeps in pimp-tight sight? These iz benefits dat ALL members, below da rank o' BFC enjoy. If ya jet da union ya jet deez benefits!

President Dan Dugan do not gots da right or power ta refund payment o' dues. This iz uh negotiated item. It iz mandated by da Collective Bargining Agreement.

Nothing iz keeping da brothers an' sisters from running fo' uh seat o' da Board o' Directors. Heck; da previous prezident, fo' numerous years, Ray Sneed wuz black.

And the person in charge of disciplinary problems is J.Sneed who is also black and is a very fair person to everyone. If your a f'up then he's the kinda guy who is gonna tell ya straight forward to you. If your wrongly accused of something then he will speak his mind to those involved. Unlike the ass sniffers who climb there way to the top, he keeps it real.
To many people are going to the Union for little miniscule problems, that had they not screwed up they wouldnt need to contact the Union. If your black or white and you screwed up then face the music. If you have been wronged then take the appropiate steps for yourself. Theres lawyers out there that will represent you against a Union or the Fire Dept if you have been unjustly punished or didnt recieve the same punishment as a white or black fireman.

I would like to thank the ERASE web site for helping embarrass the Fire Department.

If this was Rawanda, all black, they would have killed all of ERASE supporters for furthering the embarrassment of our people.

Here is one for you. 30 Engine's area - a female African American Paramedic refuses to enter an apartment and help on a Medical because of a cat.

The patient is be attended to by FF- EMT's, all white, the patient dies in the apartment and has to be drug out to the Ambulance where the female African American Paramedic waits and then helps.

The patient dies. Who's the Racist. ERASE that. I will give you a hint, her name rhymes with Sticky Dance. I think her partners name rhymes with Skinua Walker.

You tell me. I can't wait for this to hit STATTER911.

Hey ERASE - GOOD call on these guys !!!!!!!!!!!

Two DC Firefighters have been named ‘Firefighter of the Year’ by the Capitol Hill Exchange Club. For extraordinary valor, the firefighters were officially recognized during a breakfast meeting this morning.

Sgt. Daniel McCoy was honored for his actions in an apartment fire on June 6, 2007, where two children were rescued. McCoy entered a smoke-filled apartment in the 2400 block of Alabama Ave., SE, where an active fire threatened the lives of two young boys. McCoy was able to battle past fire in the kitchen area to a back bedroom, where the boys lay sleeping. He brought both children out of the building to the waiting treatment of EMS and subsequent transport to the hospital, where they made a full recovery.

Lt. Richard Lehan, working as the officer on Truck 17, entered a home in the 5000 block D Street, NE on February 13th of last year. He quickly located an adult female and removed her from the smoke-filled apartment. He then re-entered the building and located a child, whom he quickly removed to safety.

“There are four members of our community who are alive today because of the actions of Lt. Lehan and Sgt. McCoy,” said Fire & EMS Chief Dennis L. Rubin, who assisted in the presentations of awards of commemorative plaques and $200 for each firefighter recognized.

The Capitol Hill Exchange Club honors firefighters every year for exceptional work on behalf of the citizens and visitors of the nation’s capital
